Clipper Reusable Lighter: Reusability Guide

Clipper Reusable Lighter: Reusability Guide

Disposable plastic lighters are a major contributor to plastic waste. 80% of all plastic is dumped, while only 9% is recycled. With reusability at the core of Clipper's design philosophy, we hope to combat the environmental impact of disposable lighters. This article will look at what differentiates Clipper from other lighters. We’ll also look at how to reuse a Clipper lighter for a lifetime.

Why Clipper Lighters?

Many lighters are available, so why choose Clipper over other brands? Clipper has been around since 1972. Over the decades, we've dedicated our time to designing and crafting high-quality lighters that are reliable, durable, and refillable.

High-Quality Durable Lighters

Clipper lighters are made from durable nylon, making for a robust lighter used rigorously. This specialized nylon has high heat resistance and abrasion resistance. Also, each lighter contains 30% recycled materials.

Safe

Most Clipper lighters come with a preset flame height of 30mm. In addition, Clipper lighters contain butane, which can be stored at low pressure. Butane is also odorless, and it burns clean. All this makes for a safe lighter.

Eye-Catching Finishes

Clipper lighters come in a wide range of colors and finishes. Choose from Soft Touch, Translucent, Metallic, Printed, and more. You even have the option to have a Clipper lighter printed with a design of your choice.

Reusability

It is only possible to have a durable lighter if it's reusable. Clipper lighters are designed to be refillable, but that's not all. You can also replace the flint when it wears down, so you can use a Clipper Lighter as much as you want.

We make our lighters by using less plastic overall, so 30% of each CLIPPER lighter is made from recycled materials. Additionally, electricity used in our factories come from renewable sources, and the energy consumed in our production process has been reduced 25% in the last 3 years.

According to a GEOLAB-accredited laboratory study, Clipper's reusability means a Clipper lighter can last at least 83 years. So by choosing a Clipper lighter, you're choosing to reduce the environmental impact of plastic waste.

How to Reuse a Clipper Lighter

Clipper lighters are easy to reuse. No special tools are needed to disassemble the lighter and replace parts. In addition, you can quickly get Clipper butane fuel online and spare flints and wheels.

Refilling Your Clipper Lighter

You'll know when the time comes to refill your Clipper. It will simply stop igniting. But, if you want to estimate how much gas is left, you can shake it or shine an intense light through the lighter's body to see the gas level.

To refill your Clipper Lighter, insert the nozzle of your Clipper butane canister into the one-way valve underneath. Do this upside down and hold the nozzle in the valve for about 5 seconds. That's all it takes to refill a Clipper. A Clipper lighter can light up to 3000 times, but of course, this depends on the light time and the size of your Clipper.

Replacing the Flint

Being able to replace the flint on your refillable lighter is important if the lighter is to be 100% reusable. You'll know when to replace the Clipper's flint because it won't spark.

To replace the flint on your Clipper Lighter, pull on the flint wheel to release the flint housing. Next, unscrew the cap at the housing base and remove the spring. Finally, insert your new Clipper flint into the housing and replace the spring and the cap. Now replace the flint wheel mechanism, and you're all set.

Replacing the Flint Wheel

The flint wheel usually lasts a long time, but if you feel it needs replacing, simply slip it out as if you're replacing the flint and slide a new one in. It's that easy.

Conclusion

Whether you light the occasional campfire or light candles daily, a refillable lighter will save you money. Better still, using a refillable lighter can help curb plastic pollution. Clipper lighters are refillable, but you can also replace the flint and the flint wheel. That means you can use your Clipper for as long as you like. In addition, Clipper lighters come in a range of colors and finishes to express your personality. Explore our collection to find the one for you.
